For the past seven years, Pretty Little Liars has been one of the most iconically stylish shows on television, not to mention one of the most addictive — Gossip Girl basically passed the torch.
Many of my friends gave up on the crazy plot long ago, but I still watch every episode and can’t wait for the final ten in April. Whether or not you still tune in on the reg, you probably have a fave character and/or one that you particularly consider your style icon.
Your choice says a lot about your personal style, so I figured I could help you find the best places to shop to nab your favorite liar’s vibe. Of course, go-tos like H&M, Forever 21, Topshop, Zara, ASOS, and Nordstrom are foundations of all four girls’ styles, and there’s certainly overlap. But I did my best to sort typical college girl shopping favorites between Spencer, Emily, Ali, Hanna, and Aria.
Read on for your persona-liar-zed shopping list.

Spencer Hastings
It’s too easy to pigeonhole Spencer’s style as “preppy.” Her look is classic, with a definite affinity for plaid and pearls, but she also likes to add fresh, high-fashion touches: everything from mixed prints to wide-leg pants. She’s also into adding a little quirk with an animal motif or some knee socks.
Where to shop and what to snag:
Basically anything from Madewell or Anthropologie, cute sweaters, basics from Gap and Uniqlo, quirky, vintage-inspired finds from Modcloth, perfect blazers and statement jewels from J. Crew, trendy bags and jackets and pants in cool cuts from Mango and Zara.
Emily Fields
Emily’s look is the epitome of casual-cool. In early seasons, her vibe was sportier, with her tees, mini skirts, and sneaks. Her look has evolved, though, into great-fitting basics like slinky tops, flannels, and skinny pants, with standout pieces like edgy boots, a patterned bag, or perfect pleather jacket.
Where to shop and what to snag:
Relaxed tops and jackets by Sanctuary, denim and easy dresses from American Eagle, enviable jackets, vests, and graphic tees from Express, sporty-casual basics from Old Navy and Aeropostale, flannels and overalls from rue21, go-everywhere bags and pieces in flowy silhouettes from Urban Outfitters, unique jeans and edgy sweaters by Denim & Supply Ralph Lauren.
Alison DiLaurentis
Ali was once the cruel HBIC of the crew. Now, she’s been through a lot and is a bit more laid back. Her style is traditional girly, with a relaxed vibe (read: none of Hanna or Aria’s bold silhouettes and accessories). She loves a belted floral dress and a cardi or skinnies and a cute sweater–her look is super relatable for the typical college girl.
Where to shop and what to snag:
Basically any of Maison Jules‘ femme pieces, skirts, dresses, and wide belts from Charlotte Russe, pretty dresses and tops and cozy sweaters from LOFT, polished clothes and accessories from White House Black Market, pleather jackets and floral dresses from Abercrombie, flirty, vintage-looking dresses from Lindy Bop.
Hanna Marin
Of all the liars, Hanna is the one whose style has changed the most over the years. Once the resident girly-girl, she went through an edgy phase before final settling on the trendy vibe she rocks now. She dreams of ruling the fashion industry, and her look shows that.
Hanna goes glam with bold prints, sharp jackets, statement accessories, and unexpected shapes like ruffles and asymmetric hemlines. And she’s not afraid to rock a supersexy body-con skirt or dress.
Where to shop and what to snag:
Runway-inspired finds from Topshop and H&M, bold shoes and jewelry from Urbanog and Go Jane, body-hugging pieces from Guess, femme-with-an-edge dresses, tops, jackets, and jumpsuits by RACHEL Rachel Roy, anything BCBG, cool prints from Minkpink, unique finds from NastyGal, statement bags from ALDO.
Aria Montgomery
Ok, I saved my fave for last. Aria’s style can be hard to describe because she experiments with so many different vibes. I guess that’s exactly what defines her, though. Her look is unique and bold.
Aria loves to mix prints, colors, textures, and add unexpected details. She favors statement jackets, major accessories, animal prints, and incorporating trends while still making sure her looks are unlike anything you’ve ever seen.
Where to shop and what to snag:
Cool printed pieces and embellished everything from ASOS, trendy finds from Forever 21 and Missguided, unique jewels from Baublebar, great jackets by Blank NYC and BB Dakota, look-at-me clothes, shoes, and accessories from Lulu’s, quirky tees by Wildfox, funky bags, jewels, and dresses by Betsey Johnson.
