Thanks again to our friends at PBdorm for making this possible!
One of my best memories was from around New Years. My roommate and I were both sick- she had bronchitis, I had the flu- and after we called in sick to work, we sat on our other roommate’s mattress(with one of those memory foam toppers) that was in the living room for some reason and watched Keeping Up With the Kardashians for hours.
I’ve napped to jersey-shorathons on my couch soo many times!
My favorite nights in my dorm room were “mask nights” where all of my roommates (and even my best guy friends) would come over to our dorm and we would all give ourselves facials, eat junk food, and watch movies together. It was pretty hilarious seeing our guy friends in clay masks!
After turning off the lights, my roommate and I (going on 3 years as roommates!) were all tucked into bed and started talking to each other about anything and everything like we often do. One night we started talking about how we could rearrange our furniture in the room, so even though it was almost 4am we were moving desks, beds, and sidetables while watching our favorite classic Disney movies.
It’s hard to pick just one but one night our dorm building was having a gender-neutral Drag Ball, so a bunch of my hallmates and I ran around doing each others make-up, rummaging through the guys’ closets and recreating pictures that the boys in our hall have taken together; the dance was fun and the pictures are gold!
One time my friends and I went to the dinning hall sneaked shredded cheese into ziplock bags, then went back to our dorm and made quesadillas for everyone on our floor, its sounds silly but it was a ton of fun
Last year, my first year of college, I was having a pretty bad week that ended with the greatest surprise ever. I was recovering from pneumonia, did poorly on an assignment, was fighting with my boyfriend, just having one of those days where everything kind of builds up and you just want to lay in bed and watch an unreasonable number of Friends episodes until you feel better.
So, when I got back to my room planning to do just that I found someone already sitting on my bed, my best friend in the whole world. Not so unusual until you factor in that she goes to school in Scotland (I go to school in Maryland) and had told me she wouldn’t be coming home for Spring Break. I FREAKED out and was so crazy excited. I ended up taking her to my sorority’s date party instead of my crummy (now ex) boyfriend and had such a fun time and we spent the rest of the week hanging out and exploring DC together. Best. Dorm. Surprise. Ever.
Me and my roommate were always surprising each other with cute gestures. Like when I had an audition and she wrote on my white board good luck and that she loved me! We just had the best times in general in our room from spa days to movie nights to random dance parties!!!
I fortunately had an amazing first room mate during my first year in university. We would randomly before bed talk about school, our lives, and the state of the world; check the clock and it’s been ours of good talk.
On Valentine’s Day, I came home and my boyfriend had completely streamered my room and ceilings and had made me chocolate chip pancakes and sang me songs on guitar 🙂
My favorite memory would have to be just having all the girls on my floor in my room. We love being together and haning out, our girls night in are actually the best of times for many of us. We literally ordered sushi and sat around in our facials and pajamas talking about classes and upcoming events. After we finished eating we ran down the hall to our RA’s room and just decided it would be fun to bring him over to our side and surprise him with a birthday facial as well.
We had just come back from the shower, where we had been blasting music and singing, so the “concert” had continued in my dorm room. We were getting dressed, brushing our hair and screaming Taylor Swift “You Belong With Me” at the top of our lungs, when there was a knock at the dorm. My roomie, thinking it was the girls across the hall says “I’m just going to take my solo at the door!” and dances over to answer it in her bra and underwear. She flings open the door and It is the super cute RA from downstairs. He starts cracking up and says “Umm, can you ladies please keep it down?” He still laughs every single time we see him.
It was a snow day during my freshman year and we turned the room into a giant blanket fort (you know, like the ones you made when you were five). We just stayed in our pajamas and watched movies in the fort all day. Such a simple thing, but something I will never forget
For fall last year my friends and I painted pumpkins in my room. It was a fun, creative, and great way to get into the spirit.
For my 20th birthday, my friends came over to my dorm room. It was the most laid back yet amazing event. We had plenty of treats, watched a movie, and just talked until the early morning. Simple and heartfelt!
A couple friends and I have had a booze in my dormroom, we played beer pong and other stuff and had a blast of a time.
Sophomore year, my roommate and I turned our entire room into a fort — and then slept in it like that for about a week! 🙂
