With school getting back into full swing, it’s no secret that we could all use a little boost in getting back into the daily grind. Studying, memorizing and presenting is not an easy feat for any of us, and memorizing pages of material for those dreaded exams is probably one of the most stressful parts of college.
In an effort to add a little fun to the memorization process, Coca-Cola has launched the Crammer Keeper, a free new online tool that turns notes into catchy tunes…helping you memorize your notes in a new and fun way. Users can select the voice, choose a track genre (hip hop, rock, etc.) and then download the song onto their computers and share with their classmates and friends. Might as well turn your boring notes into a hip hop single, right?
It gets better, though – to help spread the word around the launch of the Crammer Keeper, Coca-Cola is giving away an iPod Touch to one lucky CF reader! Read on for all the details on how to win!

My study method is to go through my notes and circle what will be on the test. Then I write that down slowly, neatly, and somewhat in my own words on new paper. Simply rewriting material causes you to absorb at least 85% of what you write. If there’s anything I’m shaky on, I refer to my text and read the corresponding sections.
Frequent breaks are also important so your mind doesn’t wander. Also, burn a citrus candle for energy!
I make up mnemonic devices and disconnect the internet and turn off my phone!
My study system starts the day before the test (cramming is bad, I know!) . First I go through and highlight all the important terms that I remember the professor stressing over in class. After that, I read through all my notes, out loud. Usually I read them to my boyfriend (who sweetly sits there & pretends to care about whatever mumbo-jumbo I’m talking about). Then I take a break and do something totally unrelated to schoolwork. Later that day I reread my notes, with special emphasis on the highlighted parts. Make sure to get a good night’s rest (for a college student!) and eat a somewhat healthy breakfast the next morning. I try to get to class early and look over the notes one last time, then I put them up and chat with some friends about other things. I’m not promising this technique will work for everyone, but it’s helped me make straight-a’s in college so far!
Thanks, College Fashion & Coca-Cola, for offering such an amazing prize. Good luck everyone & congrats to whoever the lucky winner is!! <3
One way for me to memorize dates (particularly the dates of a person) is to think of them as a price. For example, Johann Sebastian Bach lived from 1685 to 1750, so if you were to “buy” Bach, he would cost $85.50. Jean-Baptiste Lully would cost $32.87, and so on. The easy part is remembering the century in which the person lived.
I like to begin studying a couple days before the test. I start by making flash cards on all the key vocabulary and points and quizzing myself on them. If any section proves weak in my memory, I go back into the book and reread that section – or my notes.
Thats as far as actual studying goes. The couple days before bit is key for commiting facts to long term memory. It also almost guarantees a good night’s sleep the day before. Then the day of the test I always have a good breakfast (with eggs preferably, I always seem to work better after eating protein).
And that’s it! A guaranteed A, or at least in my book! :]
my best study tip is to use all your class notes, assignments, papers, exams, and practice tests and synthesize them into a concise study guide: because by going through all of that material once to make the study guide you get a good basis of information and then by the end, you will have the study guide itself which will function as the perfect study tool
i like to use colorful pens on my notes ,and i write my reviewer in a colored paper. i also like to drink chocolate milk during i study for an exam.
You guys have such amazing giveaways. Hmm I have a lot of different study tips. For me I find that it’s great to re write things till you have them memorized. I often take notes on a book, and also use post its and flashcards and then review all three. I also like reading along with class/ keeping up and then re reading/ reviewing when a test is coming up- basically getting to read it twice while many are scrambling to read it for the first time.
For studying, what I find is that when I write down what I need to know, then I can sort of absorb it better. Also finding a really quiet area with lots and lots of light helps you stay awake and also helps you concentrate.
Flash cards and a good old fashioned cram session are great, but my best study tip = make up crazy connections (the weirder, the better) to help you remember a fact. As a freshman, I had to memorize the periodic table. I’ll never forget that K = Potassium (Potassium Kangaroos anyone?) or that Lead = PB (because, hello – PB (peanut butter) would kill you if it had lead in it). Crazy, but it works!
studying is all about comfort (not so much that you fall asleep of course)
anything that puts you in a serene mood for learning and studying
then i would suggest doing it
-warm drinks, smoothies, comfy clothes, laying down, sitting up at a table for ect…
I make my notes into quizzes and take them to test myself. It’s long and tedious, but it works! For math classes, I find as many practice questions as possible.
I love using Mnemonics to remember things from the lines of a music staff to the sequence of Roman numerals, weird sentences are easy to remember. What;s even better is if you can put them to music. I will forever recall the quadratic equation to the tune of ‘Pop Goes the Weasel’ or conjugating French “-ir” verbs to “The Mexican Hat Dance”!
My best style tip is to be yourself. Dress how you like, style comes and goes and everyone will snag bits and pieces of different styles that they like, but what you like is what is important. Dress as your self, and your confidence will rise, and everyone knows that confidence is the most beautiful thing a girl can wear!
I actually make my notes into songs! So this crammer keeper thing sounds good for me.
In order for me to study effectively I take ten minute breaks hourly. Working for too long without a break irritates me. During the break I like to listen to party music to get me pumped before going back to work.
One other study tip I have to study with ONE friend, only one. I like to do this because explaining the concept to others helps me and studying with only one friend prevents us from getting too distracted.
