With school getting back into full swing, it’s no secret that we could all use a little boost in getting back into the daily grind. Studying, memorizing and presenting is not an easy feat for any of us, and memorizing pages of material for those dreaded exams is probably one of the most stressful parts of college.
In an effort to add a little fun to the memorization process, Coca-Cola has launched the Crammer Keeper, a free new online tool that turns notes into catchy tunes…helping you memorize your notes in a new and fun way. Users can select the voice, choose a track genre (hip hop, rock, etc.) and then download the song onto their computers and share with their classmates and friends. Might as well turn your boring notes into a hip hop single, right?
It gets better, though – to help spread the word around the launch of the Crammer Keeper, Coca-Cola is giving away an iPod Touch to one lucky CF reader! Read on for all the details on how to win!

i turn off the internet…and by that, i mean i literally shut off the wireless connection so i can’t get on facebook!
What helps me study is to go anywhere but my dorm room. Seeing my bed and all the distractions around makes it a lot harder to focus on the material I’m supposed to be studying.
For my part, I always try to make flash-cards of Spanish vocab words, or important history dates as soon as I get them. Then, whenever I have free time, I already have pre-made flash cards to study with! It prevents a lot of wasted time and last minute studying [:
I retype all my notes into a study guide and then read it over a few times. Usually this amount of prep is not necessary, however.
i say to stay away from electronics..facebook is the worst distraction when trying to study.
I tend to condense important topic into a study sheet and test myself on them. Whatever I don’t know I will try and find a memorization system for, I tend to sing unknown things to familiar tunes (Top 40, anyone?). Also, if I feel I have to cram, I’ll try to do it 2 days before and see the next day what i didn’t retain.
My favorite studying method is putting the material to a song…From Row, row row yout boat all the way to kesha. It has never failed me thankfully!
My best study tip depends on the topic. I am a science major so for memorizing tables or time lines I make silly sayings. I usually use flashcards for most of my classes and if it is mathematics it is all practice. I TRY not to wait until the last minute to study but a busy schedule is common in my life. If I have time I try to discuss the topics in class with my classmates after class, and review my notes everyday before class. Speaking with fellow classmates helps me a lot.
My study tip is I have a dry erase board on my wall in my dorm room so when I have math work I use my board. It is much easier than paper because i can just wipe something right off than erasing and seeing the math problems larger helps me focus more. Especially when me and my roommate has races to see who can solve the most problems. I take one side of the board and she has the other . Its fun yet still challenging.
The best study tip? Be able to explain what you’re studying to someone who knows nothing about the topic. I’ve learned that you don’t truly grasp a concept until you’re able to explain it to someone else. It’s a total case of the student becoming the teacher.
I go old school when taking notes. During class I don’t bring a laptop, so I don’t have the distraction of the internet and actually have to pay attention. Sure your hand might cramp up or some sections might be illegible, but the next step just helps to cement the info into your brain. At some point before the next test, I always retype my notes. It gives me a refresher before I study and organizes them possibly better than they had been when I initially wrote them.
To help me study I take my notes and book if it has a study guide or questions that go for each chapter and i use my notes to answer them. It helps get in that repetion going of seeing the information and then writing it down so it helps the information stay in my head. And of course you have to get a good nights sleep and a good breakfast.
My best study tip is starting two weeks in advance before a big exam, so that the closer you get to you exam, you are more so reviewing what you already know as opposed to starting from scratch. Doing this has never failed me 🙂
What helps me study is being alone in my room with nothing but some classical music on and studying notes, re-reading things, using silly acronyms and lots of sleep and a great breakfast before a test!
When I need to study I find a quiet place where I can’t be disturbed, put on some relaxing music, and take notes on whatever is important to remember. I find that I retain info better when I’ve written it down and thought about it instead of just reading it off of a page.
make my own study guide! forces me to go over my notes another few times
and a skim latte as a treat for working so hard!
