Coca Cola Crammer Keeper iPod Touch

With school getting back into full swing, it’s no secret that we could all use a little boost in getting back into the daily grind. Studying, memorizing and presenting is not an easy feat for any of us, and memorizing pages of material for those dreaded exams is probably one of the most stressful parts of college.

In an effort to add a little fun to the memorization process, Coca-Cola has launched the Crammer Keeper, a free new online tool that turns notes into catchy tunes…helping you memorize your notes in a new and fun way. Users can select the voice, choose a track genre (hip hop, rock, etc.) and then download the song onto their computers and share with their classmates and friends. Might as well turn your boring notes into a hip hop single, right?

It gets better, though – to help spread the word around the launch of the Crammer Keeper, Coca-Cola is giving away an iPod Touch to one lucky CF reader! Read on for all the details on how to win!

  1. For essay tests, I always try to write out the essays ahead of time so I can have practice — that way the test will not be the first time I am answering the questions.

For all other types of tests I usually make flash cards. Just making them helps me to study, and then I bring them around with me and study them whenever I have time!

A good night’s rest is helpful as well but it is not always possible!

  2. When I’m studying and I really need to remember how to do that complicated algebraic formula, or memorize vocab-I tape myself on a voice recorder explaining the process until I’m satisfied that somebody who has never used the formula or whatever it is I’m trying to learn-would know how to do it after listening to the recording.
    It works great!

  3. My favorite way to study is to make up songs, to help me remember things. One time when this worked really well for me was when I had to remember all the Greeks and the Trojans on each side of the Trojan War (including which gods favored which side). The Greeks went to the tune of “Reveille” and the Trojans were to the tune of “Oh When the Saints”. This is a great way to study if you have to just remember a string of names or places.

  4. Block off study time in your calendar, 2-4 hours of study per hour in class. Also set a timer to study for 25 minutes, then take a 5 minute break. If your attention span can handle it, study for 50 minutes, then take a 10 minute break. During the break, you can do whatever you want – chat with your roommate, visit your favorite websites, etc. – but as soon as it ends, go back to studying.

  5. Explaining to others is a great way to understand what you’re studying! Explaining something develops semantics, which helps you connect the dots between all of those pesky definitions and examples of what you’re learning! What I do is I read my outline to my best friend while we’re studying (we take turns actually), which helps me understand what’s going on! If you understand the meaning, you’ll do great on your next test!

  6. For some people, this is an obvious study tip, but too many people ignore it.

You need to take breaks! Now, I don’t mean sit and Facebook for an hour. I mean legitimately work for however long you think (twenty minutes? forty five? an hour?), and then take twenty minutes away. If you’ve been on the computer, get off and give your eyes a rest. If you’ve been reading, so watch something funny and mindless. Or even just make yourself a snack.

  7. My study tips would be classical music, going to the library and rewrite all the main points of the notes taken in class. I tend to remember bettter when writing stuff down.

  8. My study tip is to create your own study guide. I print mine out a few times and fill it out until I feel confident about what I know. Get a good nights sleep and A’s will be close behind.

  9. My best study tip is to write everything down! It’ll will help you remember everything better than if you were to type it up. And you can make it fun by color coordinating with highlighters and bright pens!

  10. My study tip is to have an informal and a formal notebook. The informal notebook is for in class and reading the book. Then you organize your notes and rewrite them in a formal notebook. It gives you a second time to look at the material and gives you very organized notes come test time 🙂

  11. When I study I like to write everything that I need to know out on a sheet of paper. I usually write the main idea or a few key words so that when I am looking at the page I can look through it and instantly recognize it. I also make turn phrases into acronyms. I can always remember the acronyms even if they don’t form a word!

  12. For me, the best way to study is to type up my lecture notes, as well as my own notes from the textbook, and turn it into a study guide. I start doing this at least a week or two before the exam, and review my study guide whenever I have the time. Also, a few days before the exam, I like to meet up with a friend and review the material – asking each other questions and studying together helps so much! Ever since I started using this method of studying, my grades have gotten much higher, and i’ve been making Dean’s List for the past three semesters! 🙂

  13. What I do is try to make whatever I’m learning seem real. By that I mean, if its a bunch of facts I try to change it in a way that applies to my real life so that I’ll remember it like if it was happening to me. Kinda silly but it helps me lol

  14. I’m a psychology major, so I’ve been adding what I learn from my classes into my studying since freshman year!

One strategy that I’ve noticed has worked is studying in bursts. I’ll study hard for 15 or 20 min, then take a break and do something fun (usually dance!) for 5 min, then study hard again. Studies show that people learn more efficiently and effectively like this, and you know what? Works for me!
