Coca Cola Crammer Keeper iPod Touch

With school getting back into full swing, it’s no secret that we could all use a little boost in getting back into the daily grind. Studying, memorizing and presenting is not an easy feat for any of us, and memorizing pages of material for those dreaded exams is probably one of the most stressful parts of college.

In an effort to add a little fun to the memorization process, Coca-Cola has launched the Crammer Keeper, a free new online tool that turns notes into catchy tunes…helping you memorize your notes in a new and fun way. Users can select the voice, choose a track genre (hip hop, rock, etc.) and then download the song onto their computers and share with their classmates and friends. Might as well turn your boring notes into a hip hop single, right?

It gets better, though – to help spread the word around the launch of the Crammer Keeper, Coca-Cola is giving away an iPod Touch to one lucky CF reader! Read on for all the details on how to win!

  1. I try to study a little bit each day in the days before the test. A little studying for several days will help you retain more information than studying a lot the night before. Also, if you study in the same classroom you take the exam in it will help you remember better.

If you take five minutes before an exam to write about your worries/anxiety about the test, it will help you score higher on the exam (Think it of cleaning the worry out of your mind so you have more room for the answers to pop up)

All of these study habits are supported by research too 🙂

  2. My best study tip is to not cram! Study on a daily basis even if it’s just reviewing things for 30 minutes each day, it helps in the long run and engrains it in your mind. =)

  3. I think the best study tip is simply finding the one that works for *you*. Skimming through all the previous posts, I can easily spot the ones that would work for me, and others that would make me go crazy because I know it just doesn’t work for what needs I have: quiet, lots of personal space, and lots of repetition.

But, seriously, find the study method that works for you. I know people who’d fall asleep listening to classical music because study’s already boring enough. And then others that *have* to wait until the last minute to cram otherwise they just can’t remember what they studied.

  4. My best study tip is to give yourself a reward. Study for 10 minutes and then you can eat or take a break.

  5. I make use of dry erase boards. When I need to do problems on a test, I study by doing the problems on a white board. I run through a problem once with my notes, and then repeat repeat repeat without referring to my notes. I think it really forces me to enter a test-taking mindset.

    Cheers!

  6. I always make flash cards and learn five cards at a time. Then I add the mini five piles together and review!

I would love to use the flashcard apps to play games as well!

  7. I keep a cup of tea at hand and I love flash cards, they make everything compact. Notes are key though, I make notes to interpret the information for my own understanding.

I’m always trying to come up with tricks for memorizing stuff but this new Crammer Keeper sounds like a much better idea 🙂

  8. My best study tip is to find a spot, be it the library, a study room in your dorm, an extra bedroom in your apartment, ANYWHERE where you can study with zero distractions. For me, it’s a cubicle in the 4th floor of my library where very few venture. I can get so much done when I have no distractions!

  9. A couple of things really help me to study:

    1. Surround yourself with other students who really want to study. Not necessarily at a library, but if you choose to do homework at your apartment, or in the lounge of a dorm, make sure people around you are studying, and not watching tv or hanging out, it’s a huge distraction!

    2. If you use notecards to study, write them out right after class. I usually end up making note cards while studying for a test, but this semester I started writing notecards for every class right after I got out, so everything was fresh in my mind. It saved me time before a test and the note cards were more thorough, thus making studying just a bit easier.

    3. Take a break! Study nights can last waaay too long. Take a ten minute break, play some good music, dance around, get a snack. Pushing yourself too hard for too long will just result in putting less effort into writing or studying. It’s better to put your all in studying for a shorter time then it is to stretch yourself too thin by studying past your limit.

    Good luck!

  10. I TRY to study my homework the day it is assigned, and/or look at the reading the day we talk about it in class. It keeps it fresh in my mind!

  11. I like to type up a sheet of facts / things I need to remember & I’ll laminate it and stick it in the shower so no time is wasted!

  12. After reading a section of notes, I rephrase the broader concepts in my head and try to answer potential exam questions before moving on. I also found my magic number is 3- reading all my notes and highlights three times really seems to work!

  13. Depending on the class I do the following

    1) Dedicate the night before to studying with several cups of tea (to keep me awake, of course). This is usually for a class that comes easy to me, usually requiring a large amount of memorization (Biology fits this for me). I sit in an area of comfort (on top of my bed, usually) with my textbooks, notes and extra quizzes if the Prof supplies them. I read through everything then assign a major term or concept to a part in my room. Then, when I feel I’m ready, I put my books away and look around the room and list everything I can remember by association with items in my room. During exams, then, I just think about my room and what each item in my room corresponds to.

    2) I re-write the lyrics of a catchy song that’s stuck in my head with terms and things I should know. Then I sing my version around campus (to myself, of course!) or outloud whenever I’m given the chance. (I once re-did Ke$ha’s Tik-Tok and created a song about the various parts and enzymes of the digestive system, for example)

  14. My best study tip is to work intensely in short bursts and at the end of an hour – or whatever time you set yourself – give yourself a reward like a drink or 10 mins on youtube.
    I bribe myself!

  15. Simply take neat and organized notes during lectures. By the time an exam rolls around, you’ll have legible notes you can breeze through to ace that test. Oh, and don’t procrastinate while you’re attempting to review/study!

  16. Diagrams are always a good bet but my favorite study method is creating short songs about each topic. That way I exercise both my creativity and my memory!
