We’re wrapping up our awardsshowcoverage with a look at the amazing fashion from last night’s 2015 Academy Awards red carpet. While we could have chatted about dozens of gowns, we’ve narrowed it down to just ten noteworthy looks. Scroll down to see them all:

Top 5 Best-Dressed
In no particular order, here my picks for best dressed at this year’s Oscars.
Naomi Watts in Armani Privé

Naomi Watts took a fashion risk in this edgy yet glam Armani Privé gown, and it paid off. The black-and-gray print, halter neck, and bandeau bodice look so fresh and modern; this is a dress that looks good at everyangle. Dark blue drop earrings, tousled hair, and a wine-hued lip completed Naomi’s red carpet look.
Dakota Johnson in Saint Laurent

Fifty Shades of Grey star Dakota Johnson looked red hot (pardon the terrible pun) last night in Saint Laurent. The standout element of this one-shouldered gown is the jeweled embellishment along the strap. This dress is modern and glam, and Dakota played up that vibe with a matching red lip and a low-key ponytail.
Jamie Chung in Yanina Couture

Big Hero 6‘s Jamie Chung stepped out in Yanina Couture for her first Academy Awards red carpet, and we thought she looked fab. This tulle ballgown featured firework-like sequined detailing, which she paired with matching diamond earrings and soft waves.
Emma Stone in Elie Saab Couture

I was a bit on-the-fence about Emma Stone’s Elie Saab gown when I first spotted it on TV, but once I saw it in photos, her look skyrocketed to my best dressed list. Chartreuse is a tricky color to pull off, but Emma looked amazing in the hue, right down to her peep-toe pumps. The styling here was on-point, from her matching cuffs to her matte coral lip to her sideswept ‘do.
Lupita Nyong’o in Custom Calvin Klein Collection

Lupita Nyong’o proved to me once again that she rules the red carpet. This time around, Lupita stunned in custom Calvin Klein Collection. Covered in 6,000 pearls, this ivory, halter neck gown is truly a work of art. Lupita complemented the sculptural dress with metallic eye makeup and Chopard jewels.
Other Notable Ensembles
Whether you liked them, loathed them, or fall somewhere in-between, here are four more looks that created plenty of buzz on the red carpet last night:
Marion Cotillard in Christian Dior Couture

Marion Cotillard always opts for fashion-froward frocks, and this Christian Dior Couture gown was no exception. The white eyelet dress looked elegant from the front, but many fashion commentators weren’t sold on the back. It had a unique draped, almost cape-like back, as well as a prominent black band. Marion completed her look with Chopard earrings and a sleek updo.
Rosamund Pike in Custom Givenchy Haute Couture

Gone Girl‘s Rosamund Pike looked stunning last night in custom-made Givenchy Couture. This floral embroidered dress had plenty of textural interest, and the silk paneling around the waist further accentuated her hourglass shape. A dress like this stands out on its own, so Rosamund wisely paired it with demure earrings, an elegant bun, and a soft pink lip.
Felicity Jones in Alexander McQueen

Felicity Jones walked the red carpet in a silver Alexander McQueen gown that was definitely one of those love-it-or-hate-it types of looks. The structured, pearl-adorned bodice was juxtaposed with a voluminous, unadorned satin skirt. This gown had princess-y vibe, which was accentuated with a classic updo and Van Cleef & Arpels jewels.
Reese Witherspoon in Tom Ford

Reese Witherspoon chose an elegant Tom Ford gown for this year’s ceremony. This black-and-white, off-the-shoulder gown is timeless, and so are the gorgeous Tiffany & Co. jewels. The Wild actress also opted for natural-looking makeup and center-parted hair. Her look is definitely classic, but some fashion commenters said it was too similar to things she’s worn before – what did you think?
Least Favorite Look
Of course, we can’t love everything. Here’s one look that I didn’t really care for on the Academy Awards red carpet.
Nicole Kidman in Louis Vuitton

Nicole Kidman stepped out last night in a sequin-adorned column gown by Louis Vuitton. Though I liked the way the light gave the sequins a pastel effect, I didn’t care for the red belt around the waistline. It was distracting, and not in a good way. Accessories can make or break an outfit, and I thought the white box clutch and silver platform heels were also a misstep.
While I love contrasting looks, this was too mismatched for me. What did you think of Nicole’s gown and accessories?
