Millions around the world tuned in this month to watch the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The 36 year old bride glowed as she become England’s Duchess of Sussex.
Markle, following in the footsteps of Kate Middleton, became an instant style icon as soon as the news broke of her relationship with Harry. In fact, one of pair of jeans she wore from the brand Mother sold out immediately once the public found out where they were from! Meghan’s style can be described as classy, polished elegance. I love how her style is buttoned-up and classic à la England, with a touch of her American roots.

Today, I’m showing you how to get the duchess look on a budget. Below are three of my favorite Meghan Markle outfits and how you can copy Meghan Markle’s style for less. Let’s get started!
Table of Contents
Meghan Markle Outfit Inspo 1: Girl Next Door
Soon after Meghan wore this outfit at the Invictus Games, every single piece sold out! Which is surprising because the look is so simple to create. You probably have a nice pair of skinny jeans and white button down in your closet already.
If you are shopping for these basics, opt for quality, well-fitted pieces. Anyone can rock Meghan’s look here but the key is the effortless perfect fit and practical accessories. Speaking of accessories, the outfit is complete with a comfortable pair of flats, a large tote for your on-the-go necessities (Meghan’s exact tote is this one from Everlane but I found a chic dupe from Old Navy below), and a chic pair of sunglasses. Such a classic look!

Meghan Markle Outfit Inspo 2: Stripes
I love this outfit because it takes something so classic, a dress with vertical stripes, and makes it completely unique with cool details like buttons and a belt.
Finding a similar dress to Meghan’s was challenging (the exact dress is here and it’s not college budget-friendly), but really, any striped dress with buttons would work. The play on the vertical stripes continues with the handbag. Contrasting the wide vertical stripes of the bag with the thin stripes on the dress is a subtle yet bold statement. Meghan draped a trusty black blazer over the dress to finish up her polished look.

Meghan Markle Outfit Inspo 3: Polished Florals
In this final outfit Meghan shows she is not afraid to rock fun florals—with a sophisticated minimal twist, of course. The rich emerald color of the dress, combined with its neutral florals, keeps the piece from looking too loud or busy. The feminine cut of the dress also adds some chicness to the simple piece.
The look is topped off with classic accessories like a black blazer and black pumps. These basic accessories make the dress the focus of the ensemble, as it should be.
