Hey Upper East Siders, Gossip Girl here. I’m dedicating this post to the queen of fashion; Blair Cornelia Waldorf. It has been 10 years since we first wrote a guide to Blair Waldorf’s style and we’re still talking about some of those few iconic fashion moments. Who am I kidding? All of them are iconic.
Here at CF, we’ve covered Blair’s style a ton: From Blair’s makeup to her bedroom to her best outfits of all time, we’ve covered every aspect of her luxe life. But today we’re back with more.
As we all know, times change and styles change but there’s no shame in wanting to express you inner Blair Waldorf every now and then.
Summer is almost here and I know you’re all going to be shopping for your summer wardrobes, if you haven’t started already. So allow me to help and give you some modern Blair Waldorf inspiration with our Blair Waldorf summer style guide:

Blair Waldorf Summer Outfit 1 – Floral Dress
Products: Dress – Nordstrom, Shoes – Gilt, Bag – Nordstrom, Sunglasses – Net-A-Porter
This Blair Waldorf inspired outfit is so perfect for a summer wedding or graduation. As you probably know (and can tell from the photo above), Blair never shied away from mixing some colors, so here I mixed complementary colors in the form of this pretty floral dress and these ladylike blue suede pumps.
Blair loved to look polished at all times (it’s her signature thing), so I added a pretty handbag in a bright white shade and some classic sunglasses perfect for shielding yourself from Gossip Girl’s prying eyes.
Blair Waldorf Summer Outfit 2 – Polka Dot Shorts
Products: Shorts – Net-a-Porter, Top – Nordstrom, Shoes – Saks Off Fifth, Bag – Nordstrom Rack, Headband – Urban Outfitters
Would this even be a Blair Waldorf fashion post if I didn’t include at least one outfit with a headband? The headband is classic Blair and it’s still wearable today.
The first item I found for this outfit wasn’t the headband, though. It was the shorts, (I know they look like a skirt, I love that) and I centered the entire outfit them. I wanted them to be the focus and to stand out the most. They’re J.Crew and they’re so Blair – you know she loves her classic polka dots.
Just mix the shorts with a pretty and preppy sleeveless top, some of-the-minute loafer flats (I think Blair would be all over the loafer mule trend), and grab a polished handbag to bring the whole look together.
Blair Waldorf Summer Outfit 3 – Plaid Skirt
Products: Skirt – Nordstrom, Top – Nordstrom, Shoes – Nordstrom, Bag – Nordstrom Rack, Headband – Nordstrom
“Blair Waldorf on the steps of the Met” is the vibe I’m going for here. Think an updated take on her school uniform, with a plaid skirt, ruffle top, and gold headband. Don’t forget the polished pumps — I think Blair would adore these mustard yellow suede ankle-strap ones.
This, in fact, is my favorite outfit of the entire article, it really captures the essence of Blair with its preppy and ladylike details and is ideal for a tourist-y day in the city.
Blair Waldorf Summer Outfit 4 – Chambray Dress
Products: Dress – Nordstrom, Shoes – DSW, Clutch – Nordstrom Rack, Sunglasses – Net-A-Porter
Take me to the Hamptons in this outfit! I just want to wear this while I sip iced tea at a cute outdoor cafe and then go on a shopping spree à la Blair and Serena.
I was a little bit skeptical about this dress at first (would Blair rock a casual, inexpensive fabric like chambray?), but I think 2018 Blair would definitely take some fashion risks. This dress also fits one of her preferred silhouettes with its fit-and-flare cut.
For a final Blair touch, add patterned heels (these floral D’Orsay pumps are so Upper East Side) and a contrasting coral bag. Remember, Blair loves color, so don’t be scared to go bold!
Blair Waldorf Summer Outfit 5 – Strapless Dress
Products: Dress – Nordstrom, Shoes – Nordstrom, Purse – Nordstrom, Headband – Anthropologie
I’m definitely ready for summer vacation just looking at this outfit. Perhaps a jet set to a European beach? Or hit the cafes and shops in Paris? The possibilities are truly endless.
Blair would totally wear this sophisticated white dress — again, it’s in her preferred waist-accentuating shape and it looks luxe without completely killing your budget. Again, I went for a patterned shoe for Blair’s signature hint of color. These chunky heel mules are on the trendy side, but again I think Blair would take some risks were she around these days.
Finish with a signature headband (I love the teal color of this one) and another preppy purse (wicker is a huge trend for summer). You’re set to jet!
What do you think?
I’m not going to lie, these outfits were tricky for me since Blair is so particular about her wardrobe. Isn’t that what we love about her style though? Her ability to pull various colors and patterns together is truly a talent that takes years of practice to master.
Which is your favorite Blair Waldorf summer outfit? What trends do you think Blair would be all over if she was around today? On the contrary, are there any trends you think Blair would hate? Let us know in the comments below. xoxo, Gossip Girl
