We’ve all looked to celebrity style for fashion inspiration at some point in our lives. But it’s one thing to say “I love her outfit,” and it’s another to actually copy it in real life.
For this series, I’m going the extra mile and making it happen. Each week, I’m getting inspiration from a celebrity and copying five of her looks as closely as possible. Then, I’m reporting back to you: Did the outfits work in real life? Did I feel comfortable? Did people treat me differently? I’m sharing it all.
In past posts I’ve dressed like Zendaya, Gigi Hadid, Grace Kelly, Kendall Jenner, Vanessa Hudgens, Sophie Turner, Priyanka Chopra, Millie Bobby Brown, Hilary Duff, Lily Collins, Taylor Swift, Iconic Halloween Characters, Selena Gomez, Alexa Chung, Iconic Christmas Characters, Rachel Green in the early seasons of Friends, Rachel Green in the later seasons of Friends, Queer Eye’s Fab 5, Monica Geller, and Little Women’s Characters.
This week, I’m going to be recreating Lucy Hale’s outfits.

Lucy Hale’s Style
I was aware of Lucy Hale and her work when I was younger, but when she starred in Pretty Little Liars as Aria, that’s when I became a fan. And yes, her character’s style was weird and iconic and amazing. But Lucy’s personal style (see also: her cool 2020 loungewear looks) is really cool, in a laid-back, classic way.
After a lot of scrolling, I got a general idea of the looks Lucy leans towards the most. She wears a lot of blue denim, both in jeans and jackets. For tops, she tends to wear lots of camisoles, crop tops and graphic t-shirts, in bright and neutral palettes. For her shoes and bags, she either goes with a very cool statement item, like silver booties, or a goes for classic pairs, like white sneakers or black mules.
Without further due, here’s how the week went!
Lucy Hale Outfit #1, Monday
To start the week, I chose a very simple outfit, because Lucy tends to wear a version of this combination a lot. In the picture, she’s wearing a dress, sneakers, and a jacket while enjoying the sunshine in Amsterdam.

In order to recreate this look, I wore a flowy dress in a black and white dotted pattern. On top of the dress, I added a light jacket in an army green color. For shoes, I wore a pair of white sneakers.
For accessories, I wore a layered golden necklace, my signature rings and a pair of black sunglasses with a gold frame. I also added a black cross-body bag.
This outfit was a great way to start the week. I was comfortable and felt really cute. The dress and jacket were perfect for this warmer but still transitioning weather. I haven’t worn a simple summer dress in months, so it was a nice change of pace!
The accessories were key here to take this look beyond basic — the sunglasses and bag made a huge difference. Since this was a very versatile ensemble, I can see myself wearing it again with a pair of booties for a dressier vibe.

For Tuesday, I wanted something with more of a spring vibe, so I went with this look. Here, Lucy is wearing overalls, a t-shirt, and simple white sneakers.
Similar Items: Overalls – H&M, T-shirt – Net-A-Porter, Sneakers – Reebok, Purse – Anthropologie, Sunglasses – Saks 5th Avenue, Ring – Wolf & Badger, Faceted Stone Ring – Lane Bryant, Pink Ring – QVC
For my version of this Lucy Hale outfit, I borrowed short denim overalls from my sister and paired them with a white t-shirt. For shoes, I wore a pair of light blue sneakers. I finished off the look with a black purse and sunglasses.
This was a good outfit overall. I don’t go to an office anymore, so this was an ideal outfit for working from home.
I obviously don’t like to wear over-the-top outfits if I’m not really leaving the house, but at the same time, I don’t like to not make an effort. So this type of look is perfect for those days. It is comfy and practical, but I can still leave the house to run errands and look cute.
Lucy Hale Outfit #3, Wednesday
Midweek’s look was a little more wintery than the rest of the outfits. In the picture, Lucy is wearing a yellow sweater, jeans and sneakers as she travels the world.
Similar Items: Sweater – Nordstrom, Jeans – Levi’s, Sneakers – Topshop, Sunglasses – Saks 5th Avenue, Purse – Francesca’s, Signet Ring – Wolf & Badger, Faceted Stone Ring – Lane Bryant, Pink Ring – QVC
To recreate this look, I started with an oversized sweater in mustard yellow. I paired it with some light wash jeans and the same white sneakers I wore on Monday. Finally, I accessorized with a black cross-body bag that has a gold chain similar to Lucy’s and a pair of black sunglasses.
Like I mentioned earlier, the weather is still changing where I live. I had planned a completely different look for this day, but the morning was way colder than I expected, so I chose this one that I had saved just in case.
It was a very bright and pretty outfit. As simple as it is, it’s still stylish and a type of outfit Lucy reaches for over and over again. Next time, I would add a pair of booties or colorful socks, or even a hat or a beret, just to give a bit more of personality to it.
Lucy Hale Outfit #4, Thursday

For Thursday, I chose this chic pink ensemble. In the photo, Lucy is wearing a tank top, a pink jacket, jeans, and short heels.
Similar Items: Tank top – Matches, Jeans – Levi’s, Jacket – H&M, Heels – ASOS, Sunglasses – Saks 5th Avenue, Signet Ring – Wolf & Badger, Faceted Stone Ring – Lane Bryant, Pink Ring – QVC
To do my version of this ensemble, I borrowed a tank top in a neutral color from my mom and paired it with jeans in a medium wash. For the jacket, I wore a mauve pink varsity jacket.
I didn’t own a pair of heels with a similar style to Lucy’s, so I just used a pair of silver heels that were the right height and color.
Now, accessorizing went the same way as the other days: I started with a layered necklace in gold and added a coin necklace, then I wore my signature rings and a pair of black sunglasses.
I really, really loved this look! It was as comfortable as the rest of the outfits this week, but it had a more feminine and put together vibe.
Adding to that, the balance between the tank top and the jacket helped a lot with this transitioning weather.
By the way, if you follow these posts closely, you know I don’t wear heels often. I bought these ones for my Priyanka Chopra post and I have worn them a lot more than other heels I own because they’re really comfortable. These were such a great purchase!
Lucy Hale Outfit #5, Friday
For the final day of the week, I wanted something I could easily transition from a day look into a night look. In the picture, Lucy is wearing a pink camisole, jeans, and metallic sneakers.
Similar Items: Camisole – Neiman Marcus, Jeans – Levi’s, Sunglasses – Nordstrom, Purse – Francesca’s, Signet Ring – Wolf & Badger, Faceted Stone Ring – Lane Bryant, Pink Ring – QVC
To do a version of this outfit, I started off with a bright pink silk camisole. For the top, I thought that it had to have three important characteristics: it had to be a camisole, it had to be pink, and it had to have an interesting texture. So, I chose this one because it was the most similar item I already had.
Then, I just wore the same medium wash jeans I wore on Wednesday and a pair of metallic sneakers in a golden color. My accessories were pink mirrored sunglasses, a coin necklace and the black purse I used on Thursday.
This was one of my favorite looks of the week. I have been waiting for the weather to be a bit warmer to wear this camisole without feeling cold and I was thrilled that I could finally wear it!
This look was so easy to change into a night look: I just wore a pair of black booties and threw on a black jacket over top. Overall, it was so cute and I felt really confident and hot in it.
Final Thoughts
I wanted this week to be a bit more chill than other weeks, since I had a lot of professional errands, like renewing my license and passport. It just felt like it wasn’t an appropriate week to wear outlandish or more experimental looks. Lucy Hale’s style was the perfect way to be both comfortable and put together while wearing a practical outfit for the day.
My favorite outfits were the pink ones on Thursday and Friday, but I am 100% sure I will wear the Wednesday look (or versions of it) a lot more on my day-to-day. But, still, the pink ones were like sparkles in my week: they just felt a bit more magical and a bit brighter than the rest.
Ever since Pretty Little Liars, I have loved Lucy’s daily style. It is so easy to recreate and I guarantee that you have every item already. Just scroll through her Instagram, get some inspiration and throw something together. It will be cute and comfortable, perfect for class, work or going out.
