How to Wear Rain Boots

I didn’t buy my first pair of rain boots until I got to college (despite being from rainy Seattle). Something about tromping across campus in the rain, trying to dodge puddles and muddy clumps of grass, just made them a necessity.

Although rain boots are meant to be practical, they (like rain coats) can certainly be fashionable, too. With so many colors and styles out there, everyone should be able to find a pair they like.

Classically Chic

Rain boots can seem a little clunky, but it’s easy to dress them up with the right pieces. For a classic, sophisticated vibe (with a touch of nautical chic), combine a striped navy tee, blue jeans, and red rain boots. Pick an interesting necklace, like this wooden, geometric version. Polish things off with a classic trench and a cool studded bag.

All Laced Up
