Do you struggle with transforming your outfits from day to night? Don’t worry, CF is here to help turn that daily annoyance into a fun challenge. Class to Night Out focuses on one piece per week, and aims to help you take your look from study sessions in the library to dancing the night away.

Whether you’re a diehard girly girl, a trendy fashionista, or prefer well-tailored, ladylike pieces, we found the perfect shorts for you. Scalloped shorts are all the rage this summer, and they’ll blend seamlessly into any college girl’s wardrobe. Cute, chic and super versatile, these shorts can be worn anywhere from a family barbecue, a late dinner with the girls or even the office if you happened to score a killer fashion internship (you lucky duck).

This week’s Class to Night Out is devoted to the scalloped short. I’ll be showing you two outfits (one for day, one for night, you know the drill) that are sure to inspire. Read on for more!

For a fresh and girly daytime look, blend citrus colors with mint green to create an ensemble that’s simply delicious (yeah, I went there). Pair your shorts with a lemony top with a chic, feminine print – you can never go wrong with polka dots. Then add dashes of bright orange to liven up the outfit – a classic shoulder bag and kitschy embellished sandals should do the trick. Add a classic gold cuff and a pair of geometric earrings to put a polished spin on this super fun look.

Create a night look that’s as bold as you are by pairing your shorts with a corset top. Don’t worry – this outfit is not as revealing as it looks. Pairing high-waisted pieces with cropped tops only reveals a bit of your ribcage, creating a playful vibe that’s more youthful than sultry. Next, add height with a pair of killer strappy brown wedges, and create a splash of color with a lemon yellow clutch. Finish off with bold accessories like multi-colored bangles and turquoise teardrop studs to create a fearless summer outfit that’s both fierce and fashionable.

  1. I love scalloped shorts, but since I don’t wear shorts that often I don’t know if I want to invest in a pair. now that I think of it, I really tend to wear shorts more in the winter than the summer!

  2. I’m obsessed with the scalloped shorts trend..I have two pairs, one in black and one in pale pink. I like pairing the pink pair with a jean jacket: the tougher vibe of the denim balances out the sweetness of the shorts.
