We’ve all seen the million and one weird beauty products that pop up on our Instagram feeds. Most of these are just for show and are weird only to grab your attention, not to actually help you out.

The following five products, however, are the execption.

These weird beauty products are actually super helpful and can be used outside of some clickbait instagram video. I swear by them and I bet you’ll love them, too!

1. Magnetic Liner Lashes

I discovered this product from a Tati Westbrook review it takes the convenience of magnetic lashes (false lashes without glue) and makes them even easier.

This is an eyeliner that has an increased amount of iron oxide in it (most cosmetics already have iron oxide in them, FYI) so that the lashes magnetize to the eyeliner instead of needing to use another band to sandwich your real lashes in between magnets.

If you’ve ever used magnetic lashes before you know that the full strip never quite bends enough to match the curve of your eye. With the magnetic liner you don’t need to worry about that since the magnet itself will match the curve of your eye.

A great way to use this product is to apply your favorite eyeliner and then add a thin line of the magnetic liner on top. This is great because you can still get the perfect flick with the eyeliner you love and save the magnetic liner for only the section where you need it.

There are two brands of magnetic liners that I’ve found so far. The one that Tati tests out in her video is The LashLiner System which is a liquid liner formula. The other one is MoxieLash which is a gel liner formula and has also been tested out on youtube. The concept is the same for both.

2. Magnetic Lashes

Admittedly, magnetic eyeliners are a bit expensive and can only be ordered online. If you are looking for a bit of extra flare but cannot apply fake lashes with glue, try out a traditional magnetic lash. While I’m a bigger fan of magnetic eyeliner, magnetic lashes do work and are a great way to dip your toes into this product trend.

Pro tip: Stick to using the accent lashes that come in the half band shape: These are easier to apply and curve to match your eye shape much easier than a full band.

You can pick these up for pretty cheap from the brand Ardell (known for their regular false lashes). The ones pictured above are the Ardell accent lashes in style 001.

3. Eyeliner Stamp

We’ve seen these all over Instagram, whether it is someone testing out a new product or making their own, eyeliner stamps have been huge.

While these videos look a bit like clickbait, if you’ve messed up your winged liner after working on your eyeshadow for half an hour, you know the struggle. These products are a great way to make sure you get the perfect wing every time without having to worry!

The best part is, they come in a bunch of different styles so that no matter what you prefer you’ll be able to find one that works for you.

The Wing Eyeliner sells eyeliner stamps in a variety of shapes and sizes and it’s the brand I personally recommend if you want to try a stamp.

4. Brow Tattoo Products

I love having nice looking brows but I rarely have time to do them in the morning. Therefore, I love my brow tattoo product.

With a brow tattoo product, I can put a lot of effort into getting my brows perfect on a morning when I do have time and those brows last for days. (It’s also a great product for in between my brow tinting appointments.)

This style of product originated with K-beauty brands but has since been picked up by western brands. The product that I use is the Maybelline Brow Tattoo and I love it. I apply it with the applicator and then I take an angled brush to work the product into my brows and perfect the shape.

5. Exfoliating Foot Treatments

You know you’ve seen this on Instagram — just put the product on and all the dead skin peels off your feet. The videos are so gross yet also satisfying. The best part, though? These products really work.

These exfoliating foot treatments are perfect to do before the summer. It’s like pushing the restart button for your feet. They remove all the dead skin and make your feet look freshly pedicured.

These products work by using acids to break down the bonds between the dead skin and the living skin. This causes a peeling effect and then after 7-10 days you have brand new, super soft feet. Keep in mind that it can take a couple of days for the peeling to start and I suggest wearing socks throughout the peeling to catch all of the dead skin.

The Boscia Baby Soft Foot Peel is a great exfoliating foot peel that you can pick up from Sephora.

  1. Aveno’s hand and foot treatments. Those plastic gloves and booties are dorky looking, but damned if my skin doesn’t feel soft for days after. In the winter. In Chicago! Affordable, at most drugstores, and so worth it.
