Unless you’ve been avoiding all social media and news recently, you know that Taylor Swift made a comeback this month with her new revenge track “Look What You Made Me Do”.
The track is Taylor’s response to media criticism, and a strong clapback to celebs who have been shading her. Not only are the lyrics ultra-creative, but the music video is EPIC. It had everyone talking as soon as it was released.
The LWYMMD video premiered at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards, coincidently (or not), the same awards show that Katy Perry was hosting.

The music video, in true Taylor form, is incredibly stylish and a great source of fashion inspiration.
So let’s get started, shall we? Here are four outfits inspired by Taylor Swift’s style in the Look What You Made Me Do Video.
Table of Contents
Outfit #1: I Don’t Like Your Tilted Stage
This is the first image we see of Taylor in her video. She comes out a grave that reads “Here Lies Taylor Swift’s Reputation,” symbolically rising from the dead to start anew.
Fun fact (that fans, naturally, noticed immediately): Taylor is wearing the exact same dress that she rocked in her Out of the Woods video.
Products: Maxi Dress – Boohoo, Headpiece – South Moon Under, Arm Band – Forever 21, Sandals – Amazon
Channel the exact same dress that Taylor is wearing with this light blue satin maxi dress. It’s so ’90s chic and unexpected — and you can totally style it so it doesn’t look like a nightgown.
The dress will go well with a cute white beaded arm band. Expand the bohemian look with a headband, then finish off the look with chunky heeled sandals.
Outfit #2: I Don’t Like Your Perfect Crime
In this scene of the music video, Taylor is seen in the bathtub filled with – get this – $10M worth of diamonds. This scene is incredibly gorgeous and glam – it’s so visually stunning!
The jury is still out on the bathtub scene’s meaning, though.
Fans say it’s Taylor’s response to the media’s portrayal of her, and specifically, it’s a reference to an interview she gave where she described her exaggerated character in the Blank Space video. Of this character, Taylor said,
“She jet sets around the world collecting men, and she can get any of them but she’s so clingy that they leave and she cries and then she gets another one in her web and she traps them and locks them in her mansion. And then she’s crying in her marble bathtub surrounded by pearls.”
However, many also speculate that this scene could be a reference to Kim Kardashian’s 2016 robbery, during which the star was tied up in a bathtub and robbed of her diamonds.
We like to think that Taylor wouldn’t shoot so low, so until she speaks out on this, let’s act under the assumption that the former explanation is correct.
Products: Tee – Topshop, Leggings – H&M, Rings – Forever 21, Choker – ASOS, Nails – Amazon, Pumps – Charlotte Russe
Silver metallics are the main focus for this glam, yet edgy outfit. This one isn’t for the faint of heart — you’d better be ready to break some hearts à la Taylor’s video persona.
Start off with metallic leggings and silver heels for a daring, sexy, and ultra-glamorous feel.
Taylor is repeatedly seen wearing a bunch of rings, and they especially feature in this video, so add a silver ring set. Bring in some more silver by adding a silver choker.
You don’t need to wear a silver top, though! The outfit is better if you bring it down to earth with a basic white crop tee. Taylor loves her glamorous beachside home (though hers is in Rhode Island), so reference wealthy coastal residences with this Hamptons tee.
Finish with some red nail polish for a to-die-for vibe.
Outfit #3 – I Got a List of Names and Yours is in Red Underlined
In this scene, we see Taylor standing with duplicates of plastic models; this is a response to media criticism that says her “squad” only consists of models.
The lighting in this scene is so cool, and Taylor looks completely badass in a leather outfit and killer over-the-knee boots.
Products: Crop Top – Forever 21, Leggings – ASOS, Cape – Boohoo, Lipstick – Rimmel, Boots – Amazon
This outfit is specifically inspired by Taylor’s outfit in this scene; it’s a more fashion girl take on her revealing look. Taylor wears a lot of leather, so start off with leather pants and these killer bright red leather boots.
Instead a wearing a choker, wear a mock-neck crop top that includes a neckline that resembles a choker. Taylor is also seen wearing a cape so finish off the outfit with an adorable embroidered cape.
Outfit #4 – I Don’t Trust Nobody and Nobody Trusts Me
In this iconic scene, Taylor is seen standing in a ballroom in front of eight men who resemble her eight publicized relationship over the years.
We also see a cameo appearance by her BFF Todrick Hall.
Products: Boots – Charlotte Russe, Lipstick – Rimmel, Curling Iron – Amazon, Fishnet Top – NastyGal, Skirt – Boohoo
Play with fishnets and mesh when you channel this T.Swift look. Start off with a mesh shirt and skirt. Next, try wearing these cute embroidered boots, almost the same as the ones that Taylor is wearing.
Taylor also looks amazing with her big curls (I love when she embraces her natural hair instead of straightening it!), so curl your hair as well.
What do you think?
Have you heard Taylor’s new song? What you do think of the video? What is your favorite part of the video? Are you excited for Taylor Swift’s new album coming out in November? Leave a comment below!
I’ve been so excited for this post! You did a fantastic job. Too many amazing outfits in the video to count.
Also, I too have been worried about the Kim K reference…way too low of a blow. But I love Taylor unconditionally.
Don’t forget to mention the “Symbolic $1” she won in her recent sexual assault case.
You can catch a glimpse of it in the diamond bathtub scene.
