The “Fabulous Find of the Week” column brings you a new style steal weekly that will both keep some cash in your wallet and keep you looking, well, fabulous.
Alright ladies, it’s that time of the week again: another fab find. I am here today to show you a seemingly simple black sweater with a fun twist — a keyhole cutout and thin collar.
Cutouts have been everywhere lately. Every shop you step foot in has some kind of cutout something — sweaters, dresses, joggers even. It’s definitely the trend of the moment.
So, without further ado, I present to you a black keyhole cutout sweater from Macy’s, that hits flawlessly at the hip and is the coziest pullover sweater you ever did see.
P.S. It’s half off the original price, making it only $24.99!! Yay.
Below I have curated three looks with this sweater, but you’ll notice something specific about the first and third ones.
I’ve gone with black-on-black-on-black looks.
Why, you ask? Well, for me, winter is the season of black. Black looks good on everybody, regardless of height, shape, or figure, and it contrasts so beautifully with the white of snow. So, for two of these looks, I wanted to show you how black-on-black (on black) can look chic and conservative in a work setting, and stunning in a party one. Oh, and the burgundy accents? Well — a girl’s gotta have some burgundy on hand.
Keep scrollin’ to see.

Cutout Sweater Outfit 1: New Year’s Eve Ready (Or Some Other Fancy Party)
Products: Top – Macy’s, Skirt – Bebe, Tights – Chico’s, Pumps – J.Crew Factory, Coat – H&M, Tote – TJ Maxx, Sunglasses – ASOS
Ah, yes, the first of the all black ensembles. I don’t know about you girls, but NYE screams all black to me. It’s simple and easy but eye-drawing and sophisticated. All in all, I love it.
So, pair your black cutout sweater with a gorgeous black suede pencil skirt with a lace-up grommet design. I like how this skirt is a bit longer than your average pencil skirt, so you can be sure you won’t be pulling it down every 2 seconds. Slip on some black tights underneath and add your trusty black pumps. (I absolutely love the chunky heel on these J.Crew Factory ones.)
For a splash of color, grab a cozy burgundy bouclé coat with wide shawl lapels. Carry all your necessities in a (faux) leather crossbody bag with gold hardware, like this one from TJ Maxx. I love the ruched handle; I don’t think I’ve ever seen one like it! Cat eye sunglasses are fearless and trendy; a perfect start to the New Year.
Cutout Sweater Outfit 2: Dinner Date With the Girls? Yes, Please.
Products: Top – Macy’s, Jeggings – Zumiez, Jacket – Amazon, Ring Set – Guess, Booties – Charlotte Russe, Case – Society 6
So this outfit is a bit more chill, no black on black involved. Sometimes you need a bit of a soft pastel color in the wintertime, to remind you that spring will in fact come once again.
Grab your trusty pair of distressed jeans and pull on your black cutout sweater. A super chic baby pink fur jacket and matching cutout booties come in that perfect springy shade that will be sure to lighten your mood.
Deck your iPhone out in this daisy printed phone case (so cute) and line your fingers with gold rings. Quite chic, if you ask me.
Cutout Sweater Outfit 3: #GIRLBOSS
Products: Sweater – Macy’s, Blazer – Kohl’s, Trousers – Lulu’s, Brogues – Zara, Socks – Matches Fashion, Bag – Urban Outfitters, Plaque – Nordstrom Rack, Ring – Nordstrom Rack, Nail Polish – Etsy
For our third look, I am circling back to the all black outfit. I mean look at this, perfect for the workplace, right? Right.
Grab your sweater and pull on some simple black trousers that hit perfectly at the ankle. Slip on some sheer socks that are oh so chic, then add a pair of burgundy brogues (strong outdoor shoes with ornamental perforated patterns in the leather).
To continue on the burgundy train, a burgundy blazer pairs wonderfully, along with a swipe of burgundy nail polish on your nails. Quite polished, I’d say ;). A black gem ring is the perfect accessory to keep you feeling classy, but not drawing the eye too much. Finally, store all your goodies in a black leather bag, and why not add a cute plaque to your desk while you’re at it? Work hard, brunch harder.
What do ya think?
