Fashion Inspiration: Hart of Dixie’s Zoe Hart

Fashion darling Rachel Bilson stars as Zoe Hart, the title character of the new hit TV show Hart of Dixie. She plays a very fashionable doctor who recently moved from New York City to the small town of Bluebell, Alabama. The true southern belle, Lemon Breeland, criticizes Zoe’s modern style choices which include short shorts, high waisted skirts, and clingy dresses.

Two weeks ago, I wrote about Lemon Breeland’s style from Hart of Dixie, and I received a ton of comments wanting a post on style inspiration from Zoe Hart. Without further ado, here’s a breakdown of Zoe’s style and three outfits inspired by her look.

Zoe’s Style 101

Zoe Hart is known for her impeccable style sense, and you can easily achieve her look by adding a few key pieces to your closet:

• Chunky, high heeled boots or Oxford heels (See outfit #1 & #2 for ideas)
• High-waisted shorts
• Leather bomber jacket
• Button-up blouse in white or black (See outfit #1)
• Body-con/fitted skirt
• Structured dress that could be worn to work or on a date
• Simple jewelry

Although Zoe’s outfits on the show are really expensive because they all include spendy designer pieces, you can still get the same style while picking pieces at more affordable prices. The key to Zoe’s look is to be chic and trendsetting and that, my friend, can be found at ANY store.

Here are a few different outfits you can try out to achieve the Zoe Hart look…

Outfit #1:

This first look is a flirty ensemble that would be great for going to the mall with your friends or even for a coffee date. Zoe Hart loves her high-waisted shorts and chunky heels – these chunky oxfords are perfect for her look. Add a flowy blouse with button details for a romantic flare. When it comes to accessories, Zoe is very simple – she usually only wears a few simple pieces – so finish the look with a simple necklace and rings.

Outfit #2:

This next outfit is a trendy classic. Zoe LOVES to wear black and white, and she also loves stripes, so I combined them for a look that’s quintessentially her. To achieve this look, pair a striped shirt with a heavier leather jacket, and add some boot-like heels. The skirt is a simple body-con black one, and can be worn with lace tights. Again, the jewelry is simple – just a single necklace and some rings are perfect in order to add some texture to the outfit.

Outfit #3:

{Sweater}{Pants}{Shoes}{Bracelet}{Necklace}{Purse}{Earrings}

This outfit is more of a laid-back look that Zoe would wear around the house or while running errands. The chunky sweater, paired with black skinnies, creates the perfect combination for a chic, yet relaxed look. The teal flats add some color to the outfit, while the accessories are a little bit bolder .
