This guide to Kristen Stewart’s outfits will show you how to copy her style.
We’ve all looked to celebrity style for fashion inspiration at some point in our lives. But it’s one thing to say “I love her outfit,” and it’s another to actually copy it in real life.
For this series, I’m going the extra mile and making it happen. Each week, I’m getting inspiration from a celebrity and copying five of her looks as closely as possible. Then, I’m reporting back to you: Did the outfits work in real life? Did I feel comfortable? Did people treat me differently? I’m sharing it all.
This week, I copied five outfits from the ever-edgy Kristen Stewart. Read on to learn about Kristen Stewart’s style and how to get it for yourself.

About Kristen Stewart
Kristen Stewart is an American actress, best known for playing Bella Swan in the Twilight film series.
Prior to this franchise, Stewart was an actress who appeared mostly in independent films, occasionally getting supporting roles in studio films. At age ten, she landed her first major role as Jodie Foster’s daughter in Panic Room.
Public opinion of Kristen deteriorated following her role in the Twilight franchise. This was, among other factors, due to her being considered indistinguishable from the bland and infuriating Bella Swan.
Fortunately, Kristen’s reputation as an actress has made a full turnaround in recent years. In 2015, she became the first American actress to win a César, which is the French version of an Academy Award. In 2021 she starred in Spencer as Princess Diana and gained a great deal of critical acclaim. Her performance even resulted in an Oscar nomination.
Kristen’s Style
Kristen Stewart’s outfits are very edgy and comfortable. She is usually in jeans, t-shirts, and sneakers.
Whether she’s attending a red carpet, press junket, or fancy event, she always seems to wear the most comfortable look of the night. If she starts the night with heels, rest assured she will change into a pair of sneakers later on in the evening.
Since late 2013, she has also been the ambassador for Chanel. The brand is not known for being particularly modern or edgy, which makes Kristen an interesting choice as ambassador.
Chanel is synonymous with classic, timeless pieces, colors, and cuts. Chanel is a lady-like, buttoned-up brand, associated with Queen Elizabeth’s tweed-English style more than anyone else’s. Somehow, Kristen makes Chanel look incredibly modern, cool, and edgy. She has even managed to make Chanel tweed sets look comfortable and incredibly youthful.
Overall, Kristen prioritizes comfort in her clothes, no matter the event. She has a stylist, which means that she doesn’t personally choose most of her looks. But, we should give credit to her stylist, because nothing ever seems to be outside of Kristen’s personal style, her upscale red carpet looks are cohesive with her street style, and they’re always very much her.
A Note on the Outfits I Chose:
For these posts, I try to not include red carpet or press junket looks. I’ve done it before, but it’s not something that it’s included often in this series.
For Kristen, I felt it was necessary to include these event looks.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Kristen’s street style, but it’s almost all just the same jeans-tee-sneakers combo. If it’s winter, she’ll add a cool jacket or coat, but it’s May and I can’t possibly wear a big jacket or coat without dying of heatstroke.
Since Kristen’s red carpet and press looks are so in-sync with her street style, I thought it would be good to add some of them to the recreations list this time. This is just to give you guys some variation on the looks and not just a week of the same outfit combo with slightly different items.
Kristen Stewart Outfits Guide
Monday – Classic K-Stew Street Style
For Monday, I wanted a classic K-Stew street style look that’s perfect for summer. In the photo that I saw, Kristen’s wearing a pair of shorts, a tee, and sneakers, all with her trademark edgy vibe.

I started with my favorite pair of denim shorts to recreate her look. The shorts have a mom-fit in medium-wash denim. They are baggier than my other shorts, which suits Kristen’s style better than more fitted options.
For my top, I used a navy blue T-shirt. I actually borrowed the shirt from my boyfriend, so it isn’t actually cropped. To create the cropped fit, I just folded it up and tucked it into my bra.
Then, I put on my pair of white Adidas sneakers. Finally, I borrowed a blue baseball cap from my sister for accessories.
This was a comfortable, easy look to both recreate and wear. The shorts and tee were perfect for a Monday when I didn’t have anything else to do except work and go swimming after work. It was great for the weather we’ve been having lately. The baseball cap was a great accessory for a while, but I did take it off while I was working.
Something important I do have to point out: I’m still working from home. Which means that I can wear this on a workday. If I were going to work, I wouldn’t wear this to the office because this look is too casual. My office’s dress code is pretty much non-existent; they’re pretty chill about it, but I still wouldn’t be comfortable working in this.
Tuesday – Something Chicer
For the second day, I wanted something chicer. You guys know how much I love pink and suits, so it might not be too surprising to see that I chose this pink ensemble.
In the photo, Kristen’s wearing a pink suit, a graphic t-shirt, and black shoes.

I pulled out my beloved pin-striped, watermelon-pink suit to start my version of this outfit. Then, I wore a white graphic T-shirt, which I borrowed from my sister. Again, the tee isn’t cropped, but I folded and cropped it like the last one.
My suit is a more fitted type of suit than Kristen’s — hers is an oversized blazer and wide-leg pants suit. Even though the fit is different, I thought my suit worked well for the recreation. Don’t get me wrong, I am looking for a wide-leg suit, but I don’t want another pink one yet.
For shoes, Kristen is wearing black Doc Martens oxfords. I don’t have black Oxford shoes anymore, but I do have black Doc Martens boots. So, I decided to wear the boots for that same edgy feel.
I enjoyed this look very much! It was a bit warmer than I would’ve liked, but it wasn’t something that I couldn’t fix by taking the blazer off. It was both feminine and edgy. On Tuesdays, I usually go to the movies, and I always wear a light jacket or sweater because the A/C is always so cold. So, the look was comfortable for the movies and perfect to refresh my date-night look.
Wednesday – All-White Casual Look
For my midweek look, I wanted something that showed the perfect combination between Kristen’s press-junket style and her street style. I chose this all-white, casual look.
In the photo, Kristen wears an off-white sweater, a black bralette, white jeans, and black boots.

To start off, I wore an off-white cardigan with a black bralette underneath. In keeping with this week’s trend, the cardigan wasn’t cropped, so I just had to fold it and make it fit how I wanted it to. Then, I threw on a pair of off-white mom jeans. Finally, I just wore my black Doc Martens again for my shoes.
I adored this look! As always, I’m warier about what I eat or where I sit in lighter-colored outfits because stains are so obvious on light clothes. But this look was very comfortable and cute. At first, I thought the cardigan would be too thick for the weather, but it wasn’t an issue. I did miss a pop of color, but it was a perfectly neutral, stylish look without it.
Honestly, I thought this outfit would be harder to pull off, but in the end, it was just me getting in my own way. The perfectionist in me was going wild because my jeans weren’t white, and I was desperately trying to find a white pair that I would wear often, that I liked, in a fit that I was comfortable in, etc.
Trying to convince myself it was something I wanted. All to get this look *exactly* right. But I took a step back and realized that I’m not a big white jeans type of person and the jeans I already have work fine for this.
Thursday – Typical Street Style
The week was almost over, so I thought it’d be good to bring out another of Kristen’s typical street-style looks. For Thursday’s look, Kirsten is wearing a white t-shirt, jeans, sneakers, and a light jacket.

For the base of the look, I wore a simple white t-shirt with my absolute favorite pair of light-wash mom jeans. Kristen’s jeans are ripped, but I don’t wear ripped jeans, like *ever*, so I thought this pair would do just fine. Then, I threw on an oversized shirt in a royal blue shade as a light jacket. To finish the look, I put on my high-top black Converse.
This one was way cuter than I expected! I think the jacket made the look. Thanks to this item, the outfit went from plain to cool. I had a friend’s birthday dinner, which was kind of low-key, and I didn’t feel the need to change into something else to go.
The look, as it was, was perfect. I felt really cute and put together. Unlike Monday’s look, I would 100% wear this to the office. (I would clean my sneakers first, though!)
Friday – Pink and Blue Combos
Finally, it was Friday! As usual, I tried to save the outfit I considered the coolest for the day. For Friday, I chose this pink and blue Kristen Stewart outfit. In the photo, she is wearing a white t-shirt, pink pants, a blue jacket, and black shoes.

To recreate this look, I took my pink tailored pants (which are from my other pink suit) and paired them with a cropped white t-shirt that has a raw hem. My shirt has a pigeon embroidered, while hers is plain, but it is the right fit and color for the look. Plus, it adds a bit of a cool factor, and I could cover it with the jacket if necessary.
Then, I threw on the same royal blue over-shirt I wore the day before. Finally, I added long white socks and a pair of black loafers. I borrowed the shoes from my sister.
I loved this look! Since the shoes were my sister’s, they were a bit big on me, but since I wore thick socks, I could go about my day without leaving a shoe on the steps like Cinderella. It was also date night, so this was perfect for dinner and drinks on Friday.
Overall, this outfit was super cute and very much where my style is now with the bright colors. I enjoyed the contrast of the pink and the blue and the casualness of the top and jacket compared to the tailored pants and formal shoes.
If I wear this again, even with the socks taken into account, I would rather wear this with sneakers or other shoes, just to match my personal style a bit more.
Final Thoughts
I had so much fun this week! I didn’t expect this at first, with Kristen Stewart’s outfits being so chill, but I loved the challenge of dressing like her.
As I mentioned earlier, I try to steer away from press junket/red carpet looks for my posts because they are not that real-life-friendly or necessarily in sync with a celebrity’s personal style. With Kristen, I felt that the press junket looks were not only necessary for variety, but also as an important piece of her overall style.
With her, I didn’t think I could write a fair post with a complete picture of her fashion choices without the more stylized looks. I love that for every picture of Kristen with heels on a red carpet, there are like 10 from the same look but with sneakers or boots and the outfit still works.
Kristen obviously has an amazing relationship with her stylist, Tara Swennen (here’s her Instagram). She really understands Kristen’s personality, the pieces she is comfortable in, and what her favorite items are. Tara turns up with something similar to what her client usually wears (pants + t-shirt + jacket) but with an appropriate form for the events, with tailored pieces and even including haute-couture items (tailored pants + t-shirt + blazer).
If you want to refresh your look in an edgy, colorful, and unexpected way, copying Kristen Stewart’s style is perfect for this.
If you want to create looks based on her street style, not only do you have EVERYTHING you need, you will probably be able to copy her outfits for weeks. Are you up for a challenge? Her press junket looks will be perfect. You might have to get a bit creative for the press junket looks, but it will certainly be worth it.
