Pam, AKA: The Girl You Didn’t Notice, is one heck of a designer. Her imagination is out of this world. Being one of her friends, I’m so blessed to witness the ideas she brings to life like magic.
Today’s outfit is not only attention-grabbing but a jaw-dropper. People often think there’s a science to dressing edgy or trendy, but there really isn’t. The trick is to just dress in a way that makes you happy. Pam is happiest when she’s breaking necks with her outfits.

Let’s Talk Fashion
Who or what inspires your style? “Rihanna is my style inspiration. I love how confident and unapologetic she is. She dresses for the sake of fashion, even if it’s not [traditionally] feminine or pretty.”
Where do you like to shop? “I shop at the thrift store mostly. The best feeling is finding something one-of-a-kind that fits perfectly. I alter and re-purpose a lot of the items I thrift. I also shop at Forever 21 and Boohoo.”
How would you describe your sense of style? “My sense of style is custom. A lot of the outfits I wear are unique or feature pieces I’ve made myself. I love to mix masculine and feminine styles.”
Why did you choose this particular outfit? “I thrifted these orange jeans and knew I needed something yellow to go with them. After a second trip to the thrift store, I found this yellow rain coat. I couldn’t find an orange top to complete the look, so after about two months I just decided to cut the jeans into a skirt and use the rest of the denim to make a bodysuit. This is one of my [favorite] looks of mine.”
What fashion advice would you give to other students looking to improve their style? “Wear what you want unapologetically. Be yourself. As long as you feel yourself when you’re getting dressed, you can’t go wrong.”
What are your favorite fashion trends right now? “I love anything denim. It’s an obsession. Bodysuits are a wardrobe essential right now, especially for summer. I’m also really into bustier tops and sheer mesh overlays.”
Do you have any favorite fashion designers? If so, who? “Rihanna is my favorite designer. I loved her as a fashion ‘it-girl’ and now that she’s a designer, I [can] identify with her aesthetic. Y/Project has been doing some dope designing. [They are doing] things I’ve never seen before and love.”
Do you have any unique hobbies or interests? “I’m a homebody and not very social. I love to go for walks. I love to think and create new looks and creative concepts.”
If you could raid anyone’s closet, who would it be and why? “I would raid Rihanna’s closet. Like I said, she’s my inspiration.”
Elements of Pam’s Outfit
1. The Boots
These boots were made for strutting! I’m in love with Pam’s tuxedo-style boots. Who knew that black and white could be the loudest colors in an outfit? Talk about a pop! These boots gives Pam’s outfit a retro touch, balancing the modern tone of her outfit with a bit of old school.
2. Yellow Coat
Who wouldn’t notice a girl in a bright yellow rain coat? Not only is Pam’s coat stylish, but it’s functional too. (It’s been raining a lot in FL lately.)
3. The Bodysuit
Just to repeat in case you missed this fact in her interview: Pam reconstructed a pair of orange jeans to make this skirt and bodysuit! You guys, she MADE THIS! I am in awe. The distressed edges give these pieces personality, adding to the edginess of Pam’s outfit.
