8 Outfits Inspired by Taylor Swift’s ‘Miss Americana’

Taylor Swift is an icon beloved for her incredible songs recounting tales of growing up, life, and heartache.

In Miss Americana, a documentary, we see Taylor open up about the struggles she has experienced that she believes to be important to her personal growth. It was refreshing to see her show such raw honesty.

On a lighter note, she has also been known to have killer style and is constantly impressing us with amazing outfits on and off-screen.

Miss Americana is full of her stunning style, from past looks to tour outfits to everyday at-home wear.

Today, I’ve broken down 8 jaw-dropping looks from the documentary and crafted budget-friendly style guides for each one.

Sweet & Cozy

The documentary begins with Taylor narrating the story of her life. Besides her adorable cat Benjamin, we watch Taylor magically playing the piano whilst sporting the most adorable at-home outfit of all time.

It should be no surprise that Taylor has the cutest at-home looks, but this particular one really pushed me to step up my quarantine fashion game.

I happened to find a pink sweater and short overalls very similar to the ones Taylor wears in Miss Americana! The bagginess of the overalls is key for comfort.

I decided to pair them with a cute, velvet scrunchie which can be worn as a hair tie or a bracelet.

2016 Grammys

In Miss Americana, Taylor dives deep into why it meant so much to her to claim win Album of the Year at the 2016 Grammy’s.

As groundbreaking as that moment was, we also have to mention how stunning her outfit was that night as well.

I decided to put together a Grammy-inspired look with this red tube top and a gorgeous, hot pink high-low skirt.

These adorable strappy stilettos from ASOS tie this whole look together and give it a glam vibe.

Purple Blazer

At the 2019 MTV VMA Awards, Taylor rocked a matching purple suit jacket and shorts, with a gold bustier.

While it’s not the most practical, this outfit is chock full of inspiration for holiday and event looks!

Our Miss Americana herself, Taylor Swift, wears a romper, but this gold sequin jumpsuit to be too good to pass on. This shiny piece plays perfectly with a purple office blazer.

I accessorized this look with a gold layered necklace, because this outfit doesn’t need much extra; it’s perfect as is!

Reputation

This was hands-down one of the most memorable outfits that Taylor Swift rocked in Miss Americana.

Nothing slayed the way her Reputation Tour outfits slayed. It was an iconic tour and album.

Inspired by her main tour outfit, I pieced together a black sequined romper with some fiery, faux leather thigh-high boots.

I made sure to include a dark purple lipstick as Taylor styles this makeup look throughout the majority of her tour.

Me!

This music video “Me!” is iconic for a number of reasons. In the documentary we got to see the way Taylor and Brendon Urie’s minds’ merged to create this incredible song and music video.

While Taylor donned several different outfits in the video, I could not get over her opening scene and this dress.

I paired a long-sleeved black top with this elegant, white tulle skirt to really channel this look.

To resemble her outfit a little more, I accessorized this look with an adorable flower statement necklace.

Disco Ball

Never in my life did I think an outfit resembling a disco ball would be cute, let alone wildly fashionable. Then Taylor Swift and Miss Americana came along!

This look is by far my favorite of them all. As sparkly and beautiful as her personality, this outfit dominates in the best way possible.

I found the perfect dress that resembles Taylor’s so well I’m surprised it’s so affordable!

I paired it with some silver sequined boots that go perfectly with the dress. I also found some adorable rectangular earrings that resemble the beautiful diamond earrings she rocks in her own disco ball look.

You Need To Calm Down

Taylor’s look in this video is undoubtedly one of the best of the bunch. She shines in this fabulous hot pink coat.

Lucky for you, I have found the most adorable pieces to help us recreate this sassy look.

Starting with this hot faux fur coat, I added a blush pink matching set to resemble her adorable pink swimsuit.

I topped it off with some adorable heart-shaped earrings and a pearly set of cat-eye sunglasses that would make Taylor proud.

Lover

This cozy outfit that Taylor Swift is wearing in Miss Americana is as soft and sweet as her astonishing Lover album. Even though it is not a famous outfit, Taylor seems so at home when styling looks like these.

Plus, during quarantine life, it’s always good to mix up your at-home style!

I found a light washed rainbow sweatshirt and paired it with some slightly ripped shorts.

I don’t think we ever get a good look at what shoes Taylor wears in this scene, but I styled this look with some chunky sneakers that are just totally drool-worthy.
